Texas nails No. 1 ranking for most new homes built since 2010, report says
Housing markets might be stabilizing in most areas of Texas, but there's one sector that's still booming. A new housing report by RubyHome Luxury Real Estate has revealed Texas leads the nation with the highest new home construction rate.
The study examined property data from U.S. Census Bureau's 2022 American Community Survey, including the number of occupied properties and the number of homes built between 2010 and 2022.
Nearly a quarter (22.5 percent) of all occupied housing units in the Lone Star State have been built since 2010, the report found. That adds up to nearly 2.5 million homes out of a total 11 million-plus in the state.
Texas' new home construction rate was predictable, as the state had gained the most new residents between 2000 and 2022, according to a RubyHome spokesperson. That's another trend that doesn't appear to be slowing down in Texas, or in Dallas for that matter.
"Residents of Texas are more likely to live in a new, modern property than any other state across the country," the report said.
Better act fast for tickets to the first Texas Rangers World Series in 12 years
With the Texas Rangers set to host World Series games for the first time in 12 years, they have set an on-sale time for the few remaining tickets to the four possible games at Globe Life Field in Arlington: Tuesday, October 24 at 10 am.
Because season ticket holders and others were able to purchase blocs of tickets earlier, only a limited number of scattered singles and standing room only tickets will be available for World Series Games 1 & 2 and 6 & 7 (if necessary).
The price of the tickets ranges from $175-$600, but even at those prices, expect them to go fast. Ticket can be purchased only at texasrangers.com/postseason.
If you don't have luck there, tickets are available on the resale market, but be prepared to pay a significant markup fee.
The Rangers vanquished their rival/perennial favorite Houston Astros four games to three in the American League Championship Series, winning all four games at Minute Maid Park. They won the last two in emphatic fashion, 9-2 and 11-4, with ALCS MVP Adolis Garcia hitting three home runs and notching nine RBIs in those two games alone.
This will be the Rangers' third-ever appearance in the World Series, but the first for which they will own home field advantage. They will play either the Philadelphia Phillies or Arizona Diamondbacks, who are playing Game 7 of the National League Championship Series on October 24.
